
Bird watching in the Flora and Fauna Sanctuary
Privileged place for bird recognition, located between 1,750 and 2,276 meters above sea level. The 307 species registered in the Sanctuary correspond to 16% of all birds reported in Colombia.
Declared a National Park in 1996, it is made up of 489 hectares of sub-Andean jungle ecosystem that makes up the protected area, where 8 endemic species of birds, 31 boreal migratory species and 1 austral migratory species were recorded.
More than 60 species of mammals, 200 of butterflies, more than 15 species of amphibians and reptiles and countless insects have been identified, the most emblematic and representative of which are the Cauca Guan and the Howler Monkey.
Located in La Florida, it is very close to the houses of the Natural and Regional Reserves and only 15 kilometers from Pereira.
